Hey all,

I've had my truck for 3 years now, and after a trip to Colorado in very snowy/icy conditions, my service 4WD light is on for the first time last night. I presume my connector is wet. With this being my first 4WD truck, I am unsure of where to locate the connector to check. Any pointers on what to check, or where to find it?

It came on last night right after I started up, but it went away after shutting off/restarting including a 30 minute drive. It came back today in the middle of another drive. I have not checked again since arriving at my destination.

A wet connector would be a strong suspect if you live in the desert and then went somewhere wet (When I moved from Utah to Oregon, the electronics on the poor Jeep I had went straight to hell - to the point where I said 'screw it' and rewired the whole thing and replaced all electrical components, seriously.)

OTOH, if you're back in the desert (or at least in dry weather), it would've dried out by now...

You may want to take it to a repair shop, unless you still have an extended warranty on it (in which case the dealer can deal with it.) Are you able to get a code off of it?

I'm actually in Utah where it has been raining and snowing. I hoped last night was a hiccup, but I will plug in the Superchips when I get home.

This happens to my 2012 3500 RAM as well. The connector is on the back of the transfer case. I’ve unplugged mine, used electrical contact cleaner on both ends, connected and disconnected several times then added dielectric grease when putting it back together the final time. That seems to “fix” it for awhile.
The hardest part of this is figuring out how to take the connector apart. The engineer who designed this connector lock should be shot!

I've got a similar problem to look at... In and out of 4x4 high everything is fine... Drop it into 4 Low and I get the service 4x4 light... I have the manual floor shift and the 4x4 works fine in both Hi and Low, just get the fix me light in low...

Maybe dry out both connectors and then heat shrink them to keep moisture out??
