just bought a 2018 dodge ram crew cab 1500 5.7 hemi with 92757 miles. Dealer wants $ 2680, for a 26 month service warranty, is it worth it? Dealer claims it covers everything on truck.

In 2018 I only paid slightly over $3000 for the Chrysler lifetime maxcare service contract for my 2500.

ALL service warranties are a rip off. Half out that money is going to the shyster who sold that promise to you.

$2680 fixes a lot of stuff, that more than likely, won't even go wrong in the first place.

If they want you to finance that, it's rip-off on top of rip-off!

Google: "Dave Ramsey on extended warranties".

If it's not a Chrysler warranty, and I'm sure it's not, I would pass.

Highly doubt it covers everything. Get a copy and read it.

I would take it to a trusted mechanic & have them look it over really well. Check the trans fluid & diffs, nit just the level, tell them to suck some out & look at the color & for metal. $2680 is a lot for 2 years of coverage.

Sounds high for only 2 years. Like everything there's people for warranties and those against it. I paid $3600 for a lifetime one on my 16 2500. Up until 2 weeks ago I thought I made a bad choice especially since I've always worked on all of my vehicles. Wife bought a 15 outlander sport brand new came with a lifetime power train warranty from the dealer. 2 weeks ago the transmission went out. Just paid the deductible and had a brand new transmission installed. Would have been $6200 without the warranty.
