This is a method for smoothing out the ride of my 2020 PW.
The PW has an amazing ride already, but this 500 pound mass made her even better.
This also helps keep the wheels down in the mud.

Well, you and a select few on this forum know graphic. A lot of ppl couldn't deal with what we've seen. This was probably one of the worst accidents I've ever been to. I'd rather deal with motorcycle vs vehicle or single motor cycle accidents.

Did you do this for better traction? Are you getting stuck offroad? The weight will surely help driving in snow.

yes better traction for me even new tiers spends to easily but I went cheep a plastic tub and old washer soap with water in them works really helps a lot ! cheep too ! use one but if snow would do two !

I m going with plastic tub and lay sand bag in it should work fine and sand for summer around the house hehehe !

No. I was working graveyard shift at the time and the accident happened at 0315. Most accidents at that time don't get news coverage unless an independent is monitoring scanners. Sometimes news channels will talk about them in the morning but they cover fatalities more when it's a drunk driver. I wish they had covered this one though from a learning perspective.

Basically it was a guys person vehicle he drove for construction. He admitted to half ass installing the toolbox because he didnt think something like this would happen if he got into an accident. He had a blow out in the rear and when it happened the rear end swung off the road cause he pegged the brake. Caused the vehicle to become unstabilized and roll. The bolts holding the toolbox ripped through the bed and the toolbox hit the van with the speed of a semi doing what our motors could figure was between 50 and 55 mph. It split the van in half longways through the cab.

HOLY COW...! Yes I can visualize that scene... man what a mess that must have been.
I so dislike nighttime driving two-lane highways at night. Daytime is bad enough.
My concrete "mass projectile" will be replaced by sand very soon because I was also thinking "that will never happen to me".
Thanks for your guidance, I completely respect your advise about my hazardous setup.

She still rides very well, although now a bit safer with my upgrade to sand bags that were so overwhelmingly promoted by my fellow PW friends. A BIG thank you to "Odin" who gave a vivid example of an untethered flying mass in an accident. I cannot allow a scene like that!
I elected to reduce the weight to 300 lbs. of loose dead weight. So along with the sand, my recovery gear and tools in the RAM boxes, plus chainsaw, pallet, tonneau, etc. I'm around 400 lbs. of payload.

If you want a permanent solution that is safe and would not need to be removed, maybe consider having a sheet of steel cut to fit the bed floor and bolt it in place (or weld it).
