Paint it yourself. It's not hard. Although I wouldn't charge $600 for flares or would still be high because you waste materialMine has that same leer lip.
Still haven't figured out paint. The wrap shops told me to just call an autobody because they will be too high. So they didn't even quote me. Blows my mind that wrap is that high.
Most of the bigger autobodies around here focus on insurance contracts so they don't really like smaller jobs and quote them high. I did find one smaller shop and he wanted 600 for the shell, and 600 to spray my flares. I don't think the 600 for the shell is too crazy although I think I could still find less. The 600 for flares is laughable. They are brand new so there is no removal of old paint/primer or anything.
Not sure what to do yet.

I would sand them with a fine grit maybe 1000. Use self etching primer in a can from your local store. Then get the gun from HF (they are actually really good if you get the "Professional Series") then get the paint mixed and spray. If you get the primer from eBay you could probably do it for $120. Might need adhesive promoter or filler primer instead of self etching, or both (I would use both personally)This is my other option. Although paint is pretty pricey right now. I was reading the DIY on painting flares and priced it out on Automotivetouchup.com. Would cost me about 180 for materials for the flares. There is a local paint shop that can also mix up spray cans or I could buy a harbor freight sprayer and just buy enough for the topper and flares. Which would probably be the cheapest route versus cans.
I was going to check Maaco after work as well. I've never been a fan of a Maaco paint job. But being they are just spraying and not doing body work I think it would be fine. They color matched a bumper for my buddy a few years ago and it still looks good.
I vote do it yourself, nothing like learning!I just left maaco. They quoted me 450 for the shell and 100 for all 4 flares so 550 total. Seems like a good price it's less than half the other shop. But again it's maaco. So the question now is who is better? Maaco who knows what they are doing but likely does quick work and uses cheaper paints? Or me who has no idea what he's doing besides YouTube vids and listening to you guys haha?
