Problem with those is they require lots of ventilation. More for outdoor heat like covered patios. Run one in your shop with the door closed for too long and it's bad news.
Absolutely must have ventilation. Used them for about 20 years and with that caution, they work great.

I looked at radiant heaters when I built my garage but ended up going with a natural gas forced air furnace instead and I am glad I did.

It's cheaper and warms the garage faster after I open the door in -20C. I was recommended a Reznor unit by a buddy and it has been flawless. Mine is 45,000 btu for my 24'x24' garage but they make them all the way up to 400,000 btu. If you don't have natural gas in your area they also can be run on propane. They are hung by the ceiling so they take up no floor space.

I'll look into these thanks. Out in the sticks so were on propane

Trying to consider long term as well for how much $ each propane unit may cost me on propane alone

I use a torpedo style kerosene heater to bring the shop temp up. Its like 200,000 BTU so it doesn't take long. Then i just maintain temp with small portable kerosene heaters while i'm working. I do crack the doors while i'm running the big heater to let some fresh air in.

Maybe a wood burning stove ? A well insulated shop holds heat quite well , just me though , I actually like chopping up firewood . It's a good workout [emoji1303]

A wood burning stove would be cool if you don't mind waiting for the shop to be warm, assuming you are not going to constantly load wood into it 24/7. I like mine warm all winter long and don't want the wait or the hassle.

They've been busy with the house and getting it all sealed and lockable so nothing to the shop other than getting it rocked. It looks so small! [emoji23] then again the foundation to the house looked small before it was framed. A few pictures I took this morning, everything you can see basically is mine even the wooded area. I'll be putting in a motocross track in the back [emoji41], and I'm so happy and excited for my walk in rainfall shower I had to post a pic lol. Pictures make everything look much smaller

And that little gravel drive is there because that's where the house was originally going to be set but we moved it

Exciting. That is great progress. Really like the orientation of the shop to the house.
Thank you! Were are going to arch the asphalt from the man door of the garage to the man door of the shop and out.

That’s awesome. I’m glad to see the progress. It will be all worth the headache when you’re done

Absolutely. Getting this shop is honestly like my dream come true as corny as that may sound haha. All I can think about is the endless possibilities once this baby is finished.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but may want to consider insulating the slab and running hot water heat system.
My Brother-in-Law, in North Dakota did that and he hardly ever has to run any other heat source.
I was amazed by warm the slab kept that place. In North "Freeze your **** off" Dakota.

Basically, all he did was run water lines, poured his slab and hooked the water lines up to 1 60 gallon propane hot water heater. he has a hanging heate, for when he opens the big combine sized doors. those things open, instant -10 inside. shus those doors, 5 minutes later, nice and toasty.

he also had a corner sectioned off for a small apartment. Kitchen/living room area, bedroom and bathroom. great place to crash, heat stuff up, hit the head or whatever, without trudging dirt and stuff into main house.

maybe I missed it, but what exactly was the rationale behind using 15 amp outlets? Run everything on the 15/20 combo ones and then you can plug anything in any outlet that’s 110v.

Im not a fan of drywall in shops, I rather have the walls covered in OSB or plywood, that way you can attach things to the wall easily.

2x4 or 2x6 walls? (I may of missed it)

Pull a few CAT6/7 ethernet cables between the house and your shop and add a few drops on the bench wall so you have wired network/communications available. I prefer to wire devices that are going to be permanent fixtures rather than rely on wireless.
