I haven't done the shorties, but I think they look a hell of lot better than the stock mess.

The way I see it is they don't function with forced induction and nitrous. I had a turbo and they backfired like crazy with them (as other f/i folks). Seeing how they don't always function under serious hp loads shows that they aren't the best from a power standpoint. However, they've really not shown a dyno loss of more than a few hp and with how much they clean up the engine and how awesome they look, for the avg person they are a good mod. I'd run them. Wonder if the MSD coil packs would allow them to run good with f/i?

I have had them on my truck for the last year and a half with no issuses. I want to swap them out for the 06+ coil packs though

I've always heard they are fine except with N2O or F/I.

I've read about a few people that have issues with the shorties in the 8.2/8.5 size in cold/freezing weather... it takes a few times cranking for the engine to start. One person with the 10.x size shorties said they didn't have any issues at all. I'm doing plugs and wires in 200 miles and I'm gonna stick with the normal length ones. The 8.2 Taylor's can be threaded into the tray the stock wires are in so it looks factory.

I havent had any issues with them in the past year or so. Adds a little color. Could only find one pic for some reason.

What would you recommend for a 06 ram 1500? I should get some new wires as I just did my plugs.
What benefit does it have?

I think the only advantage is looks and not having to route them back and forth.

I've read that too. It seems it's mostly guys up in canada dealing with extreme cold.

You don't have plug wires.
