Before I start I know LT headers are better but we can't all use them because of smog laws.
I am looking at a set of BBK ceramic coated headers for my 2014, I have the air cleaner and a cat back already, I have a tuner and a 180 thermostat that I will be installing this weekend.
My question is are these headers worth putting on? I'm guessing they may be worth maybe 10HP, from what I have read about shorties the HP returns really depend on how bad the stock manifolds are and I would say these hemi's have some pretty sorry looking stock manifolds.
I just don't want to spend $400 and have no improvement in performance.
I use this truck to drive back and forth to work and to just roar around in, would like to take it to the strip a few times also.
Anyone that has used a set of these I'd love to hear from.

BBK 1 3/4 primary shorties will give you 10 HP all day long. I put the JBA 1 5/8 cali certified shorties on, the only smog certified headers for our trucks on the market and got 10HP/11Tq dyno'd. Sh*t, forget to say, I also did the y-pipe and 18" magnaflow.

NO one uses shorty headers, I would think that some of the performance parts suppliers on this sight would have an opinion here.
I am just trying to find if this a worthwhile upgrade over iron manifolds.

I'm running a set of bbk shorties with a magnaflow y-pipe and magnaflow 14". Love the setup so far. My truck is a 09 hemi 4x4

My advice would be to put that money towards another mod. I've seen some guys pick up as little as 6hp or as much as 11hp from shorties on these trucks. The BBK's do have a slightly larger primary which will benefit you at higher rpms, but the JBA shorties 1 5/8" primaries will give you more mid range power.

The ARH longtubes should still pass emissions as long as you are not in Cali (Not sure if Idaho follows the same regulations as CA though). Especially with your tune installed, the computer will show that all o2 sensors are clear and code free. Mine even passes with no cats because the computer is clean. As long as they are not real picky about the visual, you should be fine. Longtubes are going to get you 25-30hp/tq.

I ordered a set of BBK's tonight. Got them from anything automotive, 20% off sale for Labor day. Sorry Moe but I can't pass up $84 off.
Have read over and over the the JBA's have terrible quality control and they look like crap as well as not fitting.

You can't use a set of LT's in a lot of states with smog inspection because they look under the car to see if everything is stock.
I'll have to be happy with what I can get.
