Right now my exhaust is dumped right after the cab but before the axle, and pointed down. It is a magnaflow exhaust and was pre-existing to my purchase of the truck.

Well, I was thinking of how cool it would be, if it turned 90 degrees, and a tip stuck out the side of the bed before the axle.

I feel I could probably do this via clamps, but would anyone recommend someone new to this to do this? Or should I just find someone to weld it on.

Most of the exhaust is already welded, so i don't see clamping the tip bad...

any input

I don't see any reason you couldn't do it the way you're planning. Sure you could pay someone else to weld it, but there is a lot of satisfaction in doing it yourself.

Thanks, is there a specific size of exhaust tubing I probably have or are you guys probably unable to answer this? It's a 5.7 hemi with a magnaflow exhaust. Is it a 3" diamater pipe? I guess I gota cut it and maybe find out myself.

Hey well i want some input first before I do this, because of the place the mufflers welded, I don't know if I can do what i want. I will put up a photo and see what you guys think I should do.

I am going with a Magnaflow tip from autozone. They are measured by inlet, so do i get a 3" inlet? And then what size clamp? I assume the clamp would clamp both 3" pieces together. However, I need a 90 degree turn.

I will get a photo up and see what you guys think I should do.

EDIT:

Are these the clamps I should used to clamp a 90 degree turn to the muffler, and this tip to the 90 degree turn.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...heavy-duty-exhaust-clamp?itemIdentifier=59033

I hopefully don't need an extension after the 90 degree turn to make the tip long enough out the side. But maybe Ill just buy a longer tip. Like 1' SS tip! Haha Beast

Can any one pop in and tell me about the clamps? I'd like to do this before I run sea foam through my truck.

Tyler, that is a standard exhaust clamp that is use on a exhaust system that is assembled using slip joints. You want to attach a 90 degree 3" pipe pointed out the side. The clamp will work for that. Good luck...

Thanks, is there any type of grease/sealant I should use in my connections?

No, slip the pieces together and tighten the clamp. Point the threads in a direction that they won't snag debris.

Ok I gotcha, I am going to stop by autozone and hopefully find all the parts I need to do this mod.

Heres how my pipe is now, I'll have to do an immediate 90 degree turn out the side. I'm not sure if it would fit:

IDK, looks to me that the rear of the muffler is too far aft to get a clean 90 degree exit out the side. Maybe have a shop run the pipe over the axle and out the side behind the wheel.
