Ahh, OK.

But when I think "with CCF" I think MLV, because you dont need (or want) the CCF attached to the CLD, do you?

So is the MurderMat product "with CCF" MLV or CLD?

Im subscribing to the SDS montra of CLD only needs to cover 25-30% of a panel, so if that is the only place there is CCF, thats not so good.

Also, from what I am seeing, CCF is *cheap*. Heck you can get 100 sq ft of it for $25 from your local Home Depot. If it comes pre-attached to MLV, thats one thing...at least it saves you the work of adhering it to the MLV (or across the surface you will put the MLV on)

I believe its attached to the cold from murdermat. For the cost, I figured its extra resonance killer. It could he good or be bad. I guess it depends on ones goals and budget. I like the idea, but the more I think of it, idk. I think straight cld with the ccf separate for the doors is the way to go. Idk if MLV on the doors is a good idea. Too heavy. Plus I think the ccf on the door panels should be suffice. I'd only do mlv/ccf on the floors.

I did my truck with hush mat. Did the floor and the rear. Used standard hush mat from drivers seat back and used 1/2" foam from front seat forward to firewall. Cost me $750 CAD. Made a big difference on cab noise (especially since I am running dual disk clutch)

Yeah I prefer keeping everything separate. I dont think it saves much $$$ having the CCF already adhered to something, but it does save some work at least.

Im not concentrating on the doors (yet) but my main goal is killing vibration in the floor. So I will spend a bit extra on known-quality CLD like Kolossus.

Trying to find a local/semi-local source for MLV. I found one place nearby but Im not saving anything ($200 for 90 sq ft) and they were not forthcoming about % of recycled materials used in it.

The trademark stuff on Amazon got good ratings and is probably about the same price as local after shipping. But at least its a known-quality product.

I hear you. I think Kolossus is good stuff, but I'd be willing to try some of the other stuff as long as the price is right and the reviews are good. I did look at the MLV on Amazon and I agree that that would be the way to go.

I can swear by MLV, cause that is what I used as my deadener. CLD for dampener, CCF for decoupler, MLV for deadener. Simply amazing results.
I am going to do my doors the same way SDS did his.

It doesn't matter if the CCF is adhered to the MLV. You just don't want the MLV adhered to the metal.
We were referring to the cld that had the ccf adhered to it. You definitely want cld, ccf, and then mlv.

Sorry. Yeah, CLD with CCF is kosher as well. You have your butyl on the metal, aluminum as the coupler, then CCF as the decoupler, which gives you the base for your MLV

The only reason I question CCF+CLD in one is because I will not be doing 100% coverage with CLD. SDS proved there is no need.

So, if I rely on my CCF attached to CLD, I wont get 100% coverage of CCF which *IS* what you want. Thats why I think if CCF is "all in one" with anything, it should be MLV, otherwise Ill just buy 3 separate layers.

Yes sir. I believe that is very accurate. That will be the road I take when I get ready to cross that bridge.

Finally caught a break in the weather and work schedule to finish up on the sound deadening. The truck is complete with the exception of the headliner, and I'm not sure I will ever do anything with that. As it sits now, my Cummins is as quiet as a gasser if not more quiet, and gravel roads are as quiet as pavement. The only thing I hear now at 70mph on the highway is wind noise around the doors and windows. I used to run my stereo at 17 for normal listening, now I get the same sound at 13, and music is much more clear. All and all, it was more than worth the time and effort. I did both my 2014 2500 and my best friend's 2014 1500. All in, for rear walls, floors and doors, about $500 in materials and 16 hours labor total for both trucks.

Wear gloves...Inner door panels can be a bit tricky on the first one. After that it is a cinch. Working alone, use wedges to hold your glass up out of the way. You can use tape, but I have vent visors, plus I didn't want any residue on the glass to deal with. Didn't have any painters or masking tape, just Gorilla.

Did you remove any of the factory CLV before adding yours?
