I went to Budd's creek MIR in southern Maryland Saturday for the big MOPAR event/ car show.
My previous PB ( only other time I have raced it) was a 14.119 @ 97.88, from last spring with 3/4 tank of gas,
So I was optimistic in getting into the 13 second time if I dropper the spare, the tailgate, and all the gear from the cab.
also has 1/4 tank of gas.
first pass was the fastest, 14.044, followed by a 14.077, three hours later. Lots of downtime, track clean up. A corvette pro mod backed into the far wall at 100 mph and exploded. driver not hurt but long clean up and a beautiful car ( with a TRUMP sticker) destroyed. Hard to work on the tree and launch with such long breaks. I tried leaving on the second amber and went red .014, so when I got to competition rounds...anther three hours later, I waited for it to go out then went. can't win if you go red. crappy lights, .368, I did get it down to a .239 on the last pass. First round I was racing a kid in a 2008 charger, on a 13.75 dial I dialed a optimistic 13.95. He was freaking out in the staging lanes trying to adjust his dial..I handed him a rag. He must have spun on launch I never saw him till the end and I was on the brakes... when I reviewed my slip I wasn't on track to run close to 13's.
Another two hours later I had to load up all my gear, as my buds were out and leaving, so dialed a 14.10 and ran a 14.27, Lost. Oh well, long day for four runs.
Although it got cooler the air was heavier, most folks were running slower as the day and night progressed. I'm sure Ill get the 13.99 run either later this fall or in the spring. If I get to a track again before they close, at a TnT, I know I can find the sweet spot in the launch and work on the tree. Ill probably throw in a couple gallons of race fuel, just to eliminate any knock. I actually had planned on doing so but I left it home.
Still, for a Crew cab 4X4, Vararam intake, exhaust, TB, , TSTAT, Hemifever tune ( Thanks Sean!)...... pretty stout.
No I did not use the shifting buttons, I may later once I figure out the rest.
Yes on the auto 4WD , 2WD likes to wheel hop and spin.
321 gear. Yeah I know 391 or whatever would help.
I would normally run my charger at this event, but I got rear ended and its not fixed yet. Probably safe but looks ugly.
I got a few positive comments on my "Deplorable's for Trump" sign in my back window.
That's Racing!
Hope You all had a good weekend !
