I am very indecisive on what tires to get. I have a 2014 ram 1500 . Leveled.

I hunt and fish. I do some trail driving with some mud and sometimes snow, uphill and downhill. I also live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow sometimes deep And some beach driving about 8 times a year. Of course road driving to.

I absolutely cannot decide on a tire. Here are some I have considered. Most likely will get 285/65/20

Cooper stt pros
Nitto terra grappler g2
Toyo open country rt

What do you guys think? I am open to different types as well.

Thank you

I've got the G2. I've only been on road and in my yard haha and have maybe 400 miles on them. They are decently attractive tire and ride quiet as can be on pavement. Haven't had the chance for rain or anything yet.

I voted G2 but I may be a little biased :naughty:

38" Toyo Open Country M/T is next on my list along with beadlocks

Also average miles I get out of a tire is 45k to 60k a set depending on winter conditions. I drive on ballast, mud, pavement, dirt, ice, snow, beach, trails (including ones trucks probly shouldn't be on), you name it i probly drive on it. I have a ram 2012 1500 and I run 315/70/17

Love my Duratracs. Dig through snow, mud, dirt, gravel without a hesitation, quiet on asphalt. Great wear. 3rd set, second truck to have them.
I also hunt and fish. I do some trail driving with some mud and sometimes snow, uphill and downhill. I also live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow sometimes deep. I tow, haul, daily drive to work 30 miles highway one way. And they look good.

I'd go with 275/65 simply because the difference in size will be small but the 275s will be cheaper and have a much better selection.
With that being said, I can vouch for duratracs as well. They were amazing at every off-road terrain I tried them on. Also wore very well. Currently I have cooper st maxx which I love so far, but have not had a chance to test them like my duratracs

I think I am going to get 80,000 miles out of my G2 tires. Maybe 1-2mm of wear for the first 20k miles.

Hey Sander, I have the MAXX. Had them on the truck when I bought it. They were new. Went though one winter with them on and now the like new MAXX sit in the tire pile by the fence. They will last a long time but I hated them in the snow and ice.
Be a great trailer tire, so I keep them. Just sayin.

I second the Duratracs.

But (OP) you can't really go wrong with any of those brands you picked. You can also add BF K02s to the list, they were my second choice.

So I should add duratracs to the list?

If you offroad a decent amount I would, and I would scratch the terra grapplers off your list. They will probably leave you underwhelmed if you get into any mud.

I'd vote for the Cooper STT Pro's or the Goodyear Duratracs.

The Duratracs are lighter & will in all likelihood be better in the snow for you.

I had the Toyo AT2 and they were great. Now I am running the BFG KO2 and really like them.

The nitto aren't bad. But, I would replace them with the Toyo AT2 instead. Better warranty and tread life ratings.

I just took Duratracs off my 16 PW after 7900 miles...hated them, wet traction was terrible, I could break them loose at 30+ mph in the rain

Terra Grapplers worked great on my last truck in the snow and ice. Didn't get into deep mud much, so can't review them there. Have rarely heard bad things about duratracs other than they are a bit more expensive.

I've seen a seven foot snow drift once. In Maine on my way to Iraq. Hope I never see another one again
