I did two things. I installed Philips Extremevision and I aimed the driver's side headlight up a little bit. They are aimed a touch low from the factory to account for leveling under load, so if you aren't going to approach maximum pay load you may find some advantage. After driving in urban, rural, and highway environments at night:
It didn't look like a huge difference just going by how bright the light pool on the street appeared, but in actual driving it has been a significant difference. Street signs are easier to read, the right edge of the road is visible at a greater distance, etc. They aren't "super bright" but were a decent upgrade and I'm satisfied with the output.
It's still nowhere near as good as the headlights on my Camaro, but it's deep into 'good enough' territory.
