Sound Better Please!!!

If I go to a Local shop and get them to install a split cat back exhaust, how will it sound? A good friend of mine got strait pipes from the cat back and it sounds really good! His tips are SS but is a Ford (ugh!) and it only ran him a bit less than 300 for the whole outfit. Good or bad idea? BTW my truck has the crappy stock single exhaust.

My friend has the straight pipes with tips that kick out at 45 degrees on each side. No muffler on his deal, but I bet I will need one because of the MDS. Does the MDS make a bad drone without a muffler?

the truck will sound good with no muffler. There is a clip of JJ's truck with a delete pipe in the 4th gen exhaust clip thread stickied at the top of this section.

You'll definitely hear a funny sound with MDS engaged (straight piped).

I was amazed at how NOT loud mine was unbolted at the muffler.

Is there an easy way to switch off the MDS? If I manually shift the gears with my gearshift, the ECO light doesn't come on. I still like the thought off nice straight pipes!

turn on tow haul mode. that will kill MDS deader than hell

Take off the muffler completely. You'll be surprised then

mine is straight piped and dumped under the bed before the rear axel. i like it but its still not loud enough for me.

I don't want just noise, I want a freeflowing exhaust. I really want that clean rumble, not just a blaring racket. My main concern is the rumble, not noise level (although I can barely hear the exhaust even when the RPMs are on up there ).
