sorry, i know this has been beaten to death but im curious

my truck is a 98 1500 4x4 with the 5.2

it has a hemifever tune via sct tuner. I am also running a 180 degree stat.

I was running autolite 3923 plugs, last spring (almost a year ago) i switched to a suggested NGK plug (fr5 i think?) that was was comparable to the 3923 (in heat range)

Well this summer, driving my truck it ran fine, but im wondering if its worth trying the champions plugs that are comparable to the 3923 plugs

I need a step cooler i was told with the tuning (i run it on 89 tune only)

I dont drive my truck hard, just a cruiser....so do i really need the cooler plug with the tune/180 stat?

What would be the champion plug i need? that is a step cooler?

I heard good things about the "truck plugs"

And yes i know about the "its made in mexico" thing.....but for 2ish a plug...it might be worth a try to see if the truck runs any better with champions over the NGK that are in it now

the NGKs are fine, truck runs good on them....

I just heard guys talking about these champion truck plugs....

I thought maybe it was worth a try, but i guess it comes back to the old saying

"if it aint broke, dont fix it"

well Ill stick with NGK for now. They seem to work ok...not a big jump over 3923 autolites....but i only got about 10,000 miles out of those autolites?

Maybe its because i dont drive my truck alot? like less than 1500 miles a year?
