Ok, with 70,000 miles on the original plugs I know they're due for a change but what I'm asking is what symptoms will the truck give me when it's "really time to change them?" I don't want to wait until that point.
The only symptom I've noticed is a slight lag in power/acceleration like the transmission just isn't kicking down a gear when it should. Everything is stock so the shift points haven't been monkeyed with. Maybe it's in my head.
The first of June I'll be driving into Canada on a fishing trip, close to 1500 miles round trip and I want to be confident that the plugs won't give me any problems.

Thanks guys. I've never owned a vehicle longer than 50-60,000 miles so this has never been an issue.

I have been told that plus need to be changed on these Hemi's every 30k, for me the best way to tell is pop a few plugs out and inspect them. A spark plug will pretty much telly you all you need to know on how your motor is running and where else to look if its nit just worn electrodes on the plug.

The plugs have a 100k lifetime.
I personally think that's a little long. your lag has nothing to do with the plugs, maybe more with the learned profile of your driving. like a computer, the pcm needs a reset from time to time. that's normal and even though a lot of owners do not realize it, but that's how it is. in the future, with more electronic, it will get worse.
The only thing you see/feel is either you have a misfire, there you will have a check engine light on, but more likely your fuel mileage will go down. That's why I monitor mine all the time. no matter what mpg I usually get- if the truck sags 2-3mpg, I know, it's time to change the spark plugs.
Other than that- everything else is work.

Thank you sir! I haven't had a misfire and the truck hasn't been running rough yet so I won't worry too much about it right now.

They changed in 2014 from 30K to 100K so you still have time on the clock :)

I snagged a set of 16 OEM Moar NKG's from Moe's on my last order...I bought a 2012 with 65k miles and figured why not. Truck runs perfect and nothing in my last Diablo Sport log I sent to Hemifever indicated anything "tired". Sean said everything looks really strong. But I prob will end up changing in the next few thousand miles anyway for OCD sake...

I can't even remember the last time I had plugs changed, if I had to guess I would go with 1988. You are good for another 20k at least.

My 2016 with 5.7 Hemi still says 30,000. If it changed to 100,000 I would love to know where you found that info.

Look on page 874 of your owners Manual, it clearly states that the spark plug service schedule is 100,000 miles.

Your right, I had to get it online, my manual doesn't have that many pages. I'm glad to see it though.

Changed mines 3 weeks ago at 68,000 miles. took about 2 hours. They didn't look bad when I pulled them out. The white peace had a little discoloration at the top, and the lower area had a light brown tint to it. I always use a good octane boost every full up and seafoam in my oil and gas, I guess it did it's job? I will never change them ever 30,000 miles, that's crazy.

Since we are on the topic... I have read about 100 of these posts. For anyone with the copper plugs... when you change them put in the Iridium ones and you are good for another 100k. (although after the original change I think you are at 50k for each addition swap.. don't quote me on that) Either way, beats ever 30k. I'm at 42 now and there is NO way I am changing them.

If they were super easy to get to like an I4... I would do them however often they want.
