6x9 problem is the shallow depth. only a few 6x9 have the shallow depth.

The Fosgates might be 3.07" depth if they are the primes. I think it will be a close fit. Worse case you have to get some 1/4 inch spacers.

With how far the mid/tweeters in those stick out will be the real issue once you start correcting for mounting depth.

That's not what he's saying. You could plug them in and they would play without any issues. You might however run into an issue of the speaker fitting in the speaker hole and not hit the door when you put it back on

You are going to cut up your door card for mediocre speakers? If you are dead set on running big 6x9s I'd grab image dynamics convertible set. They are deep so you'd still have to make the spacer but you can move the tweet to wherever you want.

Yea, cutting into the door card will not help unless you are mounting the speaker to the outside of the door card itself. There is nothing back there to cut that will help you fit more depth. Behind the speaker will be the track for the window and you cant cut that of course.

On another note, are these going to have an aftermarket amp pushing them? If not, you may run into some clipping issues as the factory head unit might push 15 watts per channel. If you haven't bought those speakers yet, post up your budget and what your audio goals might be. Also how many doors you got.

Like mentioned above, what's your budget? Are you amping these new speakers or simply running them of HU power?
Are you going to run a subwoofer in the future? If so, I would not put 6x9's in the FRONT doors IMO....I'd go with a 6.5"+ midbass woofer/seperate tweeter
Don't cut up you door panel if you don't have to.
For the record, I have heard Memphis 6x9's (don't know which line they where)
They were amped off 90 watts/speaker. I was not a fan of their tone, but they got loud, had good midbass energy, ...they boogied pretty well

Wow image dynamics those are some bad ass SQ speakers I had a set of there horns and tweeters in a beretta I did back in the day they were killer, only thing that made that system have SQ as I had a wall were the back seat was with 4 mtx thunder cast "15" in a mega ported box so all I had for highs was the fronts and I tried custom kick panels with 6.5 components and the 3.5 in dash and the bass still drowned out the highs. Until I found those image dynamic horns had them mounted under the dash in front of driver and passenger and they were so loud and crisp and clear I didn't know if they still were a high end set up anymore I'm going to look them up for myself. Crazy how you forget stuff and how it comes back to you

Thats a badass setup right there and Man if you want loud loud horn loaded drivers are the way to go for sure. ID isn't the same company as it was back in the day but really only thing that would really worry me is their subs and I wouldn't worry much.

Now that I think about it I'm just gonna stay with the stock speaker size. I heard my friends and all his are memphis and they sound great. I think I'm gonna run a punch woofer maybe just a 8 or 10. Not trying to break glass. What size amp should I get. For the record I would really cut up my doors lol. I have a 4 door crew cab.

A budget helps for recommendations and I would look more to alpine offerings or jl or even phoenix gold. Rockford makes good subs but they tend to be muddy sounding even in the correct enclosure in my experience. Oh also bang for buck subs that are hard to beat would be soundqubed.

Not trying to threadjack... but horns are where it is it at... if you can make them work. When I ran them I kept two tunes saved, one for tailgating (stupid, stupid, stupid loud, 125w per horn), and one for SQ.... really gave me the best of both worlds. Took months to tune and mount how I wanted but in the end it was amazing.

Alpine, and kicker are popular...price is a huge factor. And also if your going to power them off the radio or add a amp. So you'd have to set a price range and decide how much you look to add
