Squeal and pop

So I was driving down the road one day and the music was barely turned up on volume level 6 and then all of a sudden it didn't work so I turned off my heady it and turned it back on ad there was a loud squeal and then a pop from my dash speakers. So I tried to diagnose the problem and I unplugged all of the rca's and it still did it does this mean that my amp is bad?

Yes take way the signal from the amp and it could be the amp. It could also be crossovers if you are running components as well.
