SRW 3500 towing/payload versus 2500 with 6.4

When I go to the Ram site I can't find SRW ratings. Only dual wheels.
Anyone can point me to the difference between a SRW 6.4 2500 versus the same in 3500?

The dealer is getting in a 3500 just like the 2500 I ordered and I have thought of dropping my order and getting the 3500. In terms of need I think the 2500 will do me OK. But since I plan on putting airbags on I don't know if there would be a huge difference in ride between the two. And since I ordered I found out about the air pressure issue in the 2500 and think that may drive me nuts.
3500 is 88 per year more expensive to insure.

Isn't the 2500 coil rears while the 3500 is leafs? that would be a noticeable difference IMO, but also potentially worth the additional payload and capacity.

For SRW 3500 the payload is only like another 800 lbs, the gvwr doesn't go up much. DRW is where you bump gvwr to 14k

Yessir, the 3500 has leafs.

Yes, the towing capability of the 3500 SRW 6.4 FAR FAR outguns the 2500! A whopping 30 lbs! WOW!

The payload is listed at 4010 for SRW 3500 CC 6.4 and 3280 for 2500. I know that the Laramies I am looking at will be less - around 3000 for the 2500; don't know about the 3500. That could make or break being able to put in a lightweight truck camper. One could actually have passengers.

When i was looking to buy my truck the website did have 3500srw ratings (2014 my). The 1 ton had like 50lbs more towing and 400lbs more payload. Went from 3600 (3/4) to 4000 (1 ton) for payload. Either the leafs are lighter or the gvwr increases a little.

I've read a few places, that the '14 ratings seemed low, and '15 brought bid changes to payload and towing, but no one knows why?

The towing chart says a 2015 rclb 2500 can tow over 17000lbs with a 3.73 and the same with the 4.10s...on a 6.4! Somethings definitely off here...

That's not right. It's 12K-ish with 3.73 and 15K-ish for 4.10. Is there not a truck on the lot that you can look at the door sticker?
I remember that when looking at mine. The sacrifice in ride was not worth the 400 lb payload increase.

Yeah the towing chart for the 2015s seems to be messed up..there is one rclb 6.4 truck at the dealer i go to..i'll have to investigate if its still there next time i go

My 3500 SRW tradesmen CC has just shy of 4100lbs of payload. The same 2500 had about 900lbs less payload. I've got 3:73's and can tow 12k. 4:10 bump that to 15k. Yes the ride does suffer some, but its really not to bad. Also I have no TPMS lights. I do have a air pressure display, but have had my pressure down to 35psi, and no annoying lights.

Almost all 2500 (or Class 2B) trucks payloads are limited by their classes max GVWR rather than what the trucks components can actually handle.

Payload per my brochure is mid 4000 lbs for 3500 and mid 2000 lbs for the 2500.

Never thought to look at the sticker...says never exceed the cargo capacity of 3418#
