So as I am understanding it, I think... I've done the stage 1 def/trans so mechanically I can remove the EGR and put the plates on but that's all? Anything else I can do mechanically before going to stage 2? Exhaust? Anything I should be looking out for?

Thanks for everyone's knowledge!

Just thought of something, should I empty the DEF tank, keep it full, keep it fresh? Do I go back to stock to get my high pressure fuel pump recall done... Will it be okay with how old of Def?

That is a good question - I would have gotten the recall done before I did the Stage 1

Don't know much about tuning the Ecodiesels but on a Cummins the EGR is shut off mechanically via software, you can remove the hardware after the fact to clean up the unused equipment - For Stage 2 I'm not sure of the stages but I would think the exhaust needs to be swapped (or even on Stage 1 if tuned)

You can try to get the recall done with Stage 1 in place (software only?) but don't be surprised if the dealer says something, its all about your relationship with them, and its a recall, not warranty work, so personally, I don't see it being an issue

if you have the ability to get the high pressure fuel pump done I think that's probably a worthwhile recall. I'm not sure how far into tuning and modding you are though...remember any time you take it to the dealer they will probably reflash your ecu..
