Think I already know the answer to this, but while under my truck changing oil this past weekend, I noticed that one of these nuts were loose. These act as kind of a locking nut around that sleeve & shouldn't be loose correct?
Another question... I am not a big emoji fan but where did they move them to when they went to the new forum platform?

No they shouldn’t be loose. I am guessing it’s the nut on the left since the paint pen mark doesn’t line up?

You are correct they should not be loose they lock the adjustment in place. Sorry I can't answer your second question . I have been following your build on your 68 and you are doing a super job.

^^ my 2014 has the same issue from when it was new. Every couple of weeks I would climb under and check it. I’m a pretty stout guy, I wrenched on as hard as I could and it always rattled loose. Eventually I put a little lock tight on there and that solved it.

I do not actually have a 68 Power Wagon. LOL The pic in my profile I believe is a late 40's PW. And yes, I would love to have one of those! Why I put that as my user name I don't know. LOL 68 is the year I was born & I like Power Wagons... that's all I got :). Oddly enough, I really didn't care much for the 68 PW body style.

Lock tight sounds like the route to go. Thanks

Lol didn't see profile pic, at that time of the morning without my bifocal and 60 some years, I been following a cummins conversion on a 68 pw so I claim senile state of mind in my defense lol

Mine came loose 2 months after the alignment I had done when I leveled. My steering wheel started to be off center and it got worse real fast. I got under it and found the lock nuts were loose so I took it back to the 4x4 shop that did my level and they restraightened my steering wheel and it's been fine nearly 30k miles since.

So far the alignment has stayed in & the collar hasn't moved but I am going to do as mentioned above & put some lock tight or black rtv glue to keep it from vibrating loose.
