I have a 2019 classic Express with black interior, urethane steering wheel with no audio controls on the back. I've been talking to a scrap yard in another town that has a black leather steering wheel with the audio controls, for decent price the only catch is the windshield had cracked and laid on the steering wheel and damage the leather, so the guy is willing to drop the price of the wheel down to $50 Canadian plus 30 bucks to ship it to me. To me I think that's a pretty good deal for the buttons the rear bezel and the wire harness. I've attached a few pictures of the wheel, just wondering if someone can confirm that that is all I should need to do the audio control swap? It would have been nice to have the leather wheel but my main goal is for the buttons.dcb998362709d3f89bf70f5ef45402d4.jpg3210d33854a2c9cbad361db70b45353a.jpg39ae26a168b7f9b40105fa7a7b35293e.jpg8556274282d85816457e2568bceac024.jpg

Yes, you can easily install the harness, buttons and back cover into your current steering wheel. It will be a plug and play install and there are no codes needed. That is actually a heated wheel so it's unfortunate that it got damaged.

Thank you for the confirmation. I was pretty sure this was all I needed for parts. Yeah, I assumed it was a heated wheel too. They were only asking 125 cdn for it to begin with, but when he went out to take more pics, he discovered the windshield had fallen into the truck and damaged the wheel and one seat. So I told him exactly what I was looking for from the wheel, and he reduced the price 50, which I think is very fair.

This is pretty easy to do. I bought a brand new leather steering wheel and the controls and swapped mine out. Do yourself a favor and get the airbag removal tool. It makes this a lot easier and it's not an expensive tool. If you need a link I can find it later. Oh and take your time routing the wires in the steering wheel, pay close attention to how they are stock, then follow it with the new wheels and audio controls.

Luckily the plugs are there for the controls, even on the Express trucks like our without the controls.

There are covers you can buy that you basically stitch right over the factory wheel cover. That'd probably save it enough so you could use the wheel and keep the heated feature it has.

Oh trust me I thought about putting an actual wheel skin on it, the only problem is with the price of a wheel skin I could just pay more and get an actual leather wheel in good condition. But the one advantage to a wheel skin is I can color match to my truck but I will have to see this damaged wheel in person first to see how bad the little Nicks really are because every little tiny bump can be felt through a wheel skin it shows up. I had a wheel skin on my F-150 they're beautiful worth every penny but like I said any little imperfection on the wheel can be seen and felt

I swapped my polyurethane steering wheel with a leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls on my 2014 Tradesman and it's been a joy to use for the last 12 months. It had a couple nicks that I fixed with some 1000 grit sandpaper and filled those nicks with super glue (or some plastic body filler), then touched up with a can of rust-oleum leather and vinyl paint. All in I spent $60. It's all smooth looking and working great with my JVC touchscreen and an Axxess steering wheel interface to retain my audio controls.
I'd definitely give it a shot since you paid very little for it and technically have nothing to loose.
