Does it sound like a zipper? Some guys on other boards experienced the same issue and found issues with the PS pump and steering gear to be the issue.
You might get under it and have someone turn the wheel lock to lock to try to isolate the source.
Get the guys in the shop to check the clock spring behind the steering wheel
Wow that’s awful. Do all your steering wheel buttons work? Did they replace the wheel with the column?
And mine is getting louder. Taking back to dealer.

I need to go into the dealer service shop for a prepaid oil change and I will get them to look at my steering column too. I will post updates when I get feedback from them...

Apologies for not getting back sooner. I ended up NOT taking my truck in yet for service due to the corona virus stay at home orders. However, the clicking sound is still present. I am confident that the sound is coming from near the steering wheel region of the steering column assembly. This would most likely mean the CLOCK SPRING is making the noticeable noise. The noise is present whether the vehicle is running or turned off. All buttons on the steering wheel are functional. The loudness of the clicking seems to get louder when the temperature is hot inside the cab. I don’t notice the noise much early in the day when the temperature is cooler (~50 degree F).
I will be taking the truck in for oil change and to check on this noise. When I get further information I will let this post know.

I had this clicking in my steering, last year. Might not be the same as reported here, but they originally replaced the steering column, and when that didnt work they replaced the steering gear. That fixed it!Does it sound like a zipper? Some guys on other boards experienced the same issue and found issues with the PS pump and steering gear to be the issue.

Noise/feel never came back.

Holy crap. Yeah that's not what mine is doing. Mine is a single click or thump felt in the steering wheel when turning either way from dead center.Took a vid for you guys. Note that the truck is off (it does it off or on).
Ok, that’s not the same clicking sound I get. Yours is more of a creak. Mine is. Single click, like the mechanical release of the turn signal stalk. And mine only does it maybe one or two times per full rotation, but it always does it in the same spots.Took a vid for you guys. Note that the truck is off (it does it off or on).
Yeah mine was more of a click that you could feel in the steering wheel. Seemed to only do it while moving the wheel slightly at slower speeds. Almost felt "loose" if that makes any sense?Ok, that’s not the same clicking sound I get. Yours is more of a creak. Mine is. Single click, like the mechanical release of the turn signal stalk.
