I've bought mattresses, mattress toppers, washers and dryers, dish washers, stoves, water heaters, refrigerators, small appliances over the years from CR recommendations. Most turned out not so good and I don't care what they say.

CR used to have a monopoly on reviews, before the internet, when they were as relevant as buying a TV guide at the check out stand at the grocery store.

Not any more.

CR is full of bull most of the time. They try out things short term, and ignore long term problems people report.

In the very early 80's they claimed Toro made the best self propel mower. We sold Toro and Snapper. The Snapper gave less problems, was more convenient to use on rough terrain and where multi speeds were needed.

More click bait from M$N. Here is the chart. For context, there is only 1 point separating Ford, GMC and Ram.

I agree. click bait. Most "so called news" stories on the internet are just that. Trying to find a real news article is almost impossible anymore....

BUT.....Being Ford, GM, and Ram being ranked #s 20 - 21 - and 22 is nothing to be proud of.

I'm not clicking on the link since I'm on my work computer. Can you add some context here? I don't understand what these car makers are being rated on. What is the number in the "Average" column supposed to represent?

It's all subjective I know but... My 19, neighbors 19, cousins 20's ALL have been bulletproof reliable. I've seen some posts on 2020+ models and the list of issues seems more serious and WAY MORE than some weatherstripping on the 3rd brake light and flowable caulk to ensure the rear window doesn't leak. I think quality and reliability has crashed. Add to that, lot rot vehicles that sat through the pandemic slowdown and you have a tarnished brand.

Considering that they ranked the mini, volkswagen, Audi, Hyundai, and Kia above the Big 3... that was enough for me to see. This isn't a reliability rating... this is a "I want something cheap that looks fancy" rating. We all know everything I mentioned is far more likely to break down than any of the Big 3.
