Besides pure looks, is there any point in me getting these on the truck I just bought? I don't have any need for them or my usual passengers to get in+out of the vehicle. I won't be doing anything fancy like lifting the truck or anything like that.

Well it's pretty simple. If you don't need them, you don't need them. I just bought some since the wife has trouble getting in the truck.

Other than looks, the only thing they do is help you get in & out of the cab. I had to get some since my wife is 5'1". She could hardly get in and out of the truck. I'm 6'3" and didn't really "need" them, but I find myself using them to get in and out. It's easier on the edge of the seat as I don't slide across it when I'm getting out. My steps also stick out far enough that they will keep car doors from banging against my doors in a parking lot.

exactly why I got them. I feel that most steps ruin the lines of the truck. WHich is why I went with the thinnest one i could find and cheapest.

personally i hate the look of steps but i do need to get some since getting in and out with the 20 inch rims kinda sucks and my grandmother has a really hard time. wish i could find some decent looking steps that will fold under the truck and be mostly hidden. so far all i've found is electronic step that cost like $2500

I had to pull mine off because I use the truck (not lifted) to haul stuff to my camp and need more ground clearance. I gave them to my Bro-in-law to modify for my sisters JK.
I think the truck looks cleaner without them also.

On my last truck I figured I didn't need them until I lifted it. On this truck I went ahead and added them (still stock height) and they're actually really nice to have. Like others said- It saves your seat edge cause you won't slide across it as much getting out. I also really like how mine look.

One other benefit, is they can help with door dings from cars. mine stick out so the door should hit the step before my truck.

You definitely don't need them though.
