Strange noise

Whats up guys. Just joined the forum and have a question for the gurus here. I have a 2004 ram quad cab with the 5.7 and sometimes when backing up or under hard acceleration I get a moaning noise that sounds like its coming from the front. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. It also does it everytime I take off from a stop when pulling the trailer.

Welcome to RF bud, its in your suspension but are you a 2x4 or 4x4? That will help us lead you towards the right replacement parts.

I say check tierod ends, if not check sway bar links.... Is there a knocking noise when you hit speed bumps?

I had a supercharger noise with my truck like ur situations and found out it was the idler pulley.

No knocking when I hit bumps. I have a 4x4. I appreciate any help I can get.

Welcome Doug. We would need some more input from you to try and tackle the issue. It doesn't seem as though this guy updated as to what the actual issue was.

When does this happen? What are you doing when this happens? Where does this noise come from? How long is the noise present? What kind of noise is it?

I'd suggest starting your own thread so we can get some fresh eyes on it and see if we can help.

I started with a google search looking for symptoms that my truck is having. The search lead me to this forum.

The OP's description is identical to what I am experiencing word for word.

I will try and start a new thread explaining my problem and see what comes up.
