I don't even know the specs on the length of the shocks I have currently. They are pro comp 3000, when getting my spacer put in he recommended I upgrade to a longer shock. So 15 1/2 is enough travel to ride comfortable on and offroad without worrying about the uppers arms ?

The difference between stock length and 15.5 is less than an inch, I'm not sure how much smoother they will ride or if you will even be able to tell, but it should keep your arms from hitting the bucket.

Bloom nailed it, returning to stock shocks will be a "rougher" ride but that 1" of difference in shock height is what will prevent the UCA from contacting the coil bucket

Are you talking about the retaining ring that's hanging down on your upper ball joint?
