There is some one in my area selling one of these for $180. is this a good purchase? And what are the benefits? Please help.

Price is a little high. 3815 should be 150 or less IMO. Also make sure it is unlocked (not vin locked / married to another vehicle).

Ok. How do I check that? And what am I going to get?

Take your truck with you if you go to pick it up and plug it into your truck. It will say on the screen if it is locked to another vehicle.

You will gain some performance, you will be able to safely run 87 octane, or load a 91 octane tune and get a few more HP.

Some people gain a couple mpg, but most it depends on your driving style.

I likes in my 98 360 and loved it in my 04 hemi. Rev limit adjust, shift point adjust, tire size, top speed, 3 can tunes(I used 91oct), trouble code reader, and im sure im forgetting some things.
