So ive spent the past 3 ish hours looking through the forum for the answers. I am looking for some feedback.

I have recently bought 2014 RAM SPORT 5.7L 4x4 w/ 6ft bed (160K). It has some issues and im trying to build a battle plan to attack this. I plan on using this for my daily driver - city / Lake (pull 20' boat) / occasional off road camping trip in the Blueridge mountains.

looking at the CV axles are going to need to be replaced. Driver side boots are ripped and other side is showing wear. After reviewing seeing threads and comments the intermediate shaft and seals should be replaced as well when doing the axles as well. So do you all have a particular brand for the axles and shaft? (CARDONE, TRQ, etc.)

With 160k I was thinking of replacing the other steering and brake parts such as the tie rod ends, wheel hub assemblies, sway bar links, upper / lower joints. All four brake rotors and pads are going to need replacing as well. Thinking this and looking around for parts. I see that Detroit Axel offers a kit which alot of these components. Do you all have any luck with that part manufacture, or do you recommend a different brand?

Struts like i said not really crazy off roading every weekend. I was thinking of putting stockers back on but after reading the leveling of the front sounds like it might be what i am looking for but my wife will occasionally use this so softer ride might be better. Recommendations?

Looks like i have a transmission pan gasket leak. Replacing the gasket looks like i should go ahead and do the pan and filter as well. Any recommendations Stock vs Aftermarket parts ? also do you have a recommendation on trans fluid? I know what the manual states but i know book and real life senarios dont always match up.

Looking forward to all of your input. Thanks !

Being a 14 Sport it should have the 8 speed. PPE makes a heavy duty transmission pan that utilizes a replacable filter.
Valvolene Maxlife has a decent rep in the 8 speed, avoid Redline or Amsoil fluids in it,they don't have a great rep in the 8 speed. This is their 2 quart larger pan,it's actually cheaper then their 1 quart larger pan

With 160K you should probably change all the fluids, and give it a tune-up.
Do Not buy sparkplugs off Amazon or Ebay, odds are they'll be fake knock-offs,buy them from either Rock Auto / Dealer / Napa etc.
If you have the coils off to change plugs it's worth giving them a little maintence.

You could also pull the injectors and do a home cleaning on them,it's not hard or expensive to clean them at home.
There's video in this link to basically how i clean them.

While you're at it,check the intake manifold bolts, they have a habit of loosening off over time.

It sounds like you know what all you should/need to do. I'm curious about others opinions on Detroit Axle parts?? I've heard good things. They're made in the U.S.A. and come with a 10 year warranty but they're so cheap that I would be worried to get what you paid for....

I replaced my front end on my Dakota with Detroit Axle parts and the connecting rod components were fine i dont think id buy their shocks again. but every line is different so thats why im ready to put new parts on this beast. I would of never bought this RAM if my Dakota hadnt dropped a valved seat or lost compression in cyc #1. now when i get home i need to hit the ground running that is why i dropped some money on this.
