I have a rough country 4 in lift on my 2012 ram 1500 currently. I was wondering if anyone has switched to a different lift kit manufacturer.

The frame is already cut so the hard part is over for frame. You can install a new kit without any or much hassle in almost all cases Ive seen.

hopefully this is helpful to op.....i purchased a used 14 ram with a 4" rc lift already installed, the rcx. not sure how long ago. truck rides good. the more i read on here, i learn rc isnt really cared for. i knew they were not top of the line, but some people think they are garbage. anyway....i have thought abiut this as well...to a point. i dont want to drop the $ for a brand new lift. are there parts i could upgrade (say for example rc weak points) to get a better product? are we just new shocks away from a much better setup? i absolutely love the stance of this lift. with 35s i think it is perfect. for those who are more mechanically inclined and more knowledgeable about the rc lifts, what are their weak points?

I started with a RC 6” lift with their 6” leveling struts. I’ve got a 2016 Ram 1500 4x4 Crewcab Tradesman model. I also had the same questions about week points and started researching weak points and better options. I went with RC bc honestly I was on a budget. It’s a good kit but doesn’t (imo) cover all what I needed. I had bad wheel hop in the rear and it bad angles in the front with my UCAs. Not all lift kits are going to have issues depending on each person’s opinion. It just all depends on what you want and are going to do with the truck. I’ve pretty much upgraded everything in the RC kit with the exception of the crossmembers. I wanted beefier more heavy duty parts for what I knew I’d be doing with my truck. I’ve upgraded struts to bilsteins and yes you can tell a difference in ride quality. IMO, i feel RC should upgrade their rear sway bar end links and provide a rear control arm relocation brackets like Procomp does. But in the end it is your preference. If you do regular maintenance and pay attention to your suspension a RC lift will treat you right. If you have any specific questions about the RC lift just message me. I regularly have sat down and just ask a **** ton of questions to them and have gotten a-lot of good measurements on their parts and why they make them the way they do.

If I had it to do over again I would get the AEV Dual Sport 4" lift... I would have got it the first time around but it didn't exist when I bought my Ram & Mopar lift.

Does your Rough Country lift not work properly or are you looking to improve handling?

What is your intentions with the truck? If you are looking to get more lift for bigger tires and to off road I highly recommend the Fabtech performance lift kit with Dirt Logic Shocks. there are other options we can discuss if interested. Contact me and we can go over them and pricing
