Iffy tailgate issue.

I have a 2022 1500 Laramie and my tailgate as of late is causing issues. Using the interior switch or button on key FOB, or manually, sometimes it drops automatic or with my using the handle, other times I hear a click and it never releases to open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I did recently replace tailgate rubber with a new “made to fit” cover. This is all I have done. Suggestions?

I would suspect the tailgate linkage / lock assy's are in need of lubrication and adjustment from the inside of the tailgate. Very easy to do using a little common sense. Ton of youtube videos showing how.

Mine was iffy when I got the truck used. (I don't have the electric open, but do have the electric lock / unlock) Did all that and has smooth as butter ever since.

Thanks for the reply. I did all that sir. Lubed with non greasy spray anything that moved in regards to the tailgate. I swear, when I use it, the dern tailgate acts up, when the wife uses the truck, she has no issues. The truck is still under warranty. When it goes in for next oil change, I’ll have them take a look at it, IF it is still acting up. Again thank you.
