Tailgate Key

Help, bought a used 2014 1500 express and it had only one set of keys. My problem is that I can only unlock the tailgate with the remote, my valet key will not fit in the key way. Is there a separate key for the tailgate or did someone change the lock???

The one key is for both the door and tailgate. The previous owner/s might of had a tailgate stolen or damaged in an accident?
Or they had a tailgate handle break on them, thus either way a salvage yard replacement.
It wouldn't cost much to go to a locksmith and have the tailgate lock rekeyed to your original key.

My 11 sport had a separate key for the tailgate. Didn't have the remote on the key fob.
