Tailgate Ladders

Hi, new here. Bought a Ram 2500HD regular cab 8' bed 6.4 33,000 miles. My cousin had it and had a ladder on the tailgate but took it off, said it closed easy but was hard to open. I would like to put something on it as it's hard to climb into. Anyone had experience with them? Thanks

This was on my truck when I bought it, the folding step under the end of the bumper on the driver's side. I didn't think I'd use it much but I actually do & like it a lot. Over time I'd imagine that corrosion could attack it so I plan to stay on top of keeping it clean & lubricated.

  Tailgate Step Ladder​

  
  My suggestion if you have issues getting down, use the bed step going up, sit on the tailgate, hang legs over side to get down. Far less chance of a face plant and a small step down.

  2023 limited bumper step​

  
  Call the dealer parts with your VIN, they will give you the right part number of the MOPAR step.Also helps if your search for the correct thing. Retractable Bed Step. This comes up when I search 2023 1500 Limited. Be aware not all Canadian part numbers are the same as they use in the U.S.Bed...

  Tailgate Assist Step​

  
  If you want to keep the bed free, put a couple of hooks to hold the ladder along the side rails above the wheel wells and extending back towards the tailgate. That is what i did for mine.

  Bed Step Question
  
  I have the bed step but like you also bought a 3 step ladder. Getting old sucks and they keep making these pickups taller.Also, makes a decent chair if you are having lunch off the tailgate.
