So far I am enjoying my 3rd gen 1500. One item on my fix-it list is the interior. The seat cushions are shot and the original cloth has seen better days. It all needs to replace as the previous owner was a smoker. Not to mention, early 2000's cloth was not nearly as good as modern-day "cloth" synthetic seats, or even leather.

So without spending an arm and a leg (or left nut), what generation seats and center console will easily swap into my 3rd gen? I would love the SRT-10 interior from the same year but that's a pipe dream.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I see that you have a 2005 model truck, which is the first run of the third generation. After 2006, the trucks were given a much needed update, and the interiors in the later third gens still look good to me to this day. The seats are a direct bolt-in replacement, and there is no need to modify stock mounting hardware. You could source cheaper parts from a you-pull-and-pay yard. Third gen Ram trucks are not hard to come by in these places, and one thing I have noticed from pulling parts for my truck is most of the third gens still have most of their interiors intact besides the dashboards. Seats are not going to be cheap though. No matter what you do you will end up paying at least a couple hundred on a good set of front seats and the center seat/console. You could, however, refurbish you existing seats. Pull them apart, take the cloth covers off, remove the foam, and replace. You can find new seat foams and covers on Ebay and Amazon. Removing the old foam and cover and replacing is a laborous task, especially if you have power seats, though it could save you some money in the end.

You could swap in 4th gen seats, the fronts are bolt ins but the rears require a little modification to work. Unfortunately unless you get base model cloth or vinyl you run into the same expense problem as the SRT seats.
