Greetings All,
I've searched the manual for the Ram 3500 with the 6.7 L Cummins Engine. I cannot be for sure but think that the use of a ODBII Tester is the right tester. Now, as for which one is best, I'll leave that up to you to make the recommendations as the experts. I do not have one at present. I am looking to buy one.
BUT...I would also like to confirm that the ODBII is the right one to use for this truck. I have found others on the internet for the Cummins engine that state J1587; J1708 and J1939. I don't know what the exact differences are except that the J's seem to be for heavy duty trucks. Is the Ram 3500 Dually (and/or Ram 5500) considered heavy duty and have to use one of the J series testers instead?
Under my dash, I have a 16-pin configuration. It looks like only 7 o f the pins are actually there and in use.
Any information regarding these testers would be appreciated.
