I've looked and looked through threads on this forum and I haven't found any HD conversion threads that are conclusive. Yes, we all pretty much know the hood and grill will bolt right up and the bumper needs a little modification, but no thread I've seen has ever showed the completed conversion with the brackets.

This thread is here to change that. I'm planning a HD conversion as my next mod, so I'm looking to find as much information as I can. I'm also going to use this thread to document my build and MAYBE design some brackets or whatever is needed to make the bumper work.

Now, I've heard that the HD conversion requires brackets to be fabbed up for the bumper, but I've also heard all that's required is a couple of brackets be cut off the HD bumper and a few holes drilled to make it fit.

Anyone have any links to detailed threads? Anyone know for sure?

IIRC, the 2500 front end has remained unchanged through the 4th gen, but the 1500 had a few changes made to the grill styling.

What I did was just buy a 2500 :p

You're like those guys that put a camaro front end on an elcamino. Never did understand that...

Don't hate, the 2500 is a completely different truck. Especially seeing as to how he has an R/T. Go for it man, take pics and put the word out.

If I was going to go bigger than a 1500, I would be getting a king ranch super duty.

The conversion is simple enough. The selection of hoods is more to my liking, and let's face it, the 2500 has a far more aggressive looking front end
