Does anyone have any thoughts on a theft deterrent device for the new RAM TRX? I was thinking maybe a kill switch of some sort. I have a steering lock mechanism to deter someone from thinking about stealing the truck.

Any ideas would be nice. Thanks!

If someone really wants to steal your TRX, they'll back up with a flatbed truck that has some bogus towing company name on the side and pull the vehicle onto the bed and drive away. It can be gone in less than 15 minutes and no one will question a tow truck driver.

Does your truck need to have cellular or internet connection?

I'm not sure how the device communicates to your phone.

A kill switch would be the simplest and the least expected.

I know this is an old thread, but there are two preferred devices among TRX owners for keeping thieves from starting your truck. Ravelco and IGLA.

Most TRX have push button start. Kill switch in a hidden location takes about 45 minutes to install and cost about $30. See example on YouTube below at 8:37

Or this. Which is about $40.00 plus shipping.

Or both, which work independently of each other.

Brother a faraday box is useless, they are breaking in and copying a key right through the obd port.

The IGLA Anti-Theft is that best system out there.

it blocks the obd port and doesnt allow you to start the car unless you punch is a pin code by using the factory buttons on your steering wheel and the factory buttons on your dash.

once you do that the car will start.

heres two videos, 1st video shows you how it works and second will show you why phone notifications, Faraday boxes and GPS tracking are flawed.
