Thanks for the kind awords.
I think the setting and the light had a lot to do with the "presence" and the "look" of the black HEMI truck in that particular picture. Although, I have to say, I really liked how it turned out. What's missing on the CTD that was on the HEMI are the wider flares which I've been thinking I need to address.
I can't say what I gained with the intake. It went on the truck the night before it went into the shop for the delete and tune mods. I would say, as was my experience with the HEMI as it had an S&B intake kit on it, is I definitely got an improvement in throttle response.
But that wasn't all I got out of both intakes. Coupled with a freer flowing exhaust, custom tuning and better air/fuel/spark management, I got a LOT more horsepower out to redline on a very flat power curve. What's interesting on the HEMI trucks, and most HEMI powered vehicles in general, is that tuning brings more power (torque) lower down in the RPM, making the vehicle much more responsive. Look at it as a system where the sum of it's parts is greater than any individual contribution a single part will make. And I've found it's the same for the Cummins.
I like the S&B intakes. They fit, the quality is good and the smoothness of the airflow in their tubes is quite an improvement over the stock system. I'd not hesitate to put one on any of my vehicles.
