The other guy's truck was totaled too. His engine total came off the mounts and moved backwards into the truck. The body was sliced from the front fender all the way back to the firewall.

Very nice ride. I didn’t have a need for a 2500 at this point but love the Delmonico Red color just the same:

You do an excellent job of optioning up a truck! Did a great job on both... look tough, but not over the top.

Wow. If I were him I'd be thankful I was in a truck. If he was in a sedan probably would have been much worse.

Just yesterday I told my wife that as much as I love my True Blue my next Cummins would be Delmonico Red. These pics confirmed it. Truck's looking good man!

Have to ask... is the 666 tag personalized, or just the luck of the draw?

Hey man, love both your trucks!
I concur with every guy in here, that blacked out rig was perfection but that Delmonico red is something else, it always turns my head when one rolls past, beautiful colour.

Nice upgrades too, that’s a tidy little list, she’s a beaut of a truck man. How much of a gain do you see out of that intake? Obviously with it being a Cummins and tuned you can play around a bunch with it but I’m hoping to stick an s&b on my Hemi soon and I was wondering how you feel about their product? Good brand?

Thanks for the kind awords.

I think the setting and the light had a lot to do with the "presence" and the "look" of the black HEMI truck in that particular picture. Although, I have to say, I really liked how it turned out. What's missing on the CTD that was on the HEMI are the wider flares which I've been thinking I need to address.

I can't say what I gained with the intake. It went on the truck the night before it went into the shop for the delete and tune mods. I would say, as was my experience with the HEMI as it had an S&B intake kit on it, is I definitely got an improvement in throttle response.

But that wasn't all I got out of both intakes. Coupled with a freer flowing exhaust, custom tuning and better air/fuel/spark management, I got a LOT more horsepower out to redline on a very flat power curve. What's interesting on the HEMI trucks, and most HEMI powered vehicles in general, is that tuning brings more power (torque) lower down in the RPM, making the vehicle much more responsive. Look at it as a system where the sum of it's parts is greater than any individual contribution a single part will make. And I've found it's the same for the Cummins.

I like the S&B intakes. They fit, the quality is good and the smoothness of the airflow in their tubes is quite an improvement over the stock system. I'd not hesitate to put one on any of my vehicles.

Yeah it really looked great man, simple and clean.
Aye I’ve been thinking about fender flares myself, it’s honestly not an upgrade I had even considered really. My 1500 is a 4x2 so I have tended to lean away from more, chunky off-road styling (as much as I’d love that) just cause I’d feel silly if I made it look off-road ready yet it couldn’t do a thing haha
However the flares give a really nice touch from stock. On a 2500 they definitely don’t look out of place.

That’s good to hear man, I really appreciate your thoughts on this so thank you! Yeah s&b just seem to have some nicer designs for air flow and keeping it a cold air intake rather than just an open air intake. I definitely agree, the concept of smacking on a CAI and expecting a 20hp gain is stupid because as you said you need to balance out the system with air flow etc. I can’t drop a lot right now on a tune and exhaust but I’m going to work towards an intake an then hopefully I can find a tuner for a decent price, full blown exhausts will burn a hole in my pocket haha
How do you optimise your air/fuel and spark management? Just upgraded plugs and injectors?

I really appreciate getting a genuinely informed perspective on this mate, thank you for your help
I’m fairly new to this whole game but I’d really love to learn!

I needed the flares due to the wider tires and change in wheel offset from stock. I wanted to protect the rocker panels and body sides. But adding them did complete the look I was going for.

Optimizing the air/fuel ratio, fuel delivery and spark management is done via the programmer and a custom tune. Once you have your in & out airflow situation achieved, it's time to tune and a good tuner can work wonders. Stock plugs and injectors are fine unless you decide to go with some form of forced induction, i.e., turbo or supercharger or if you add nitrous where a plug change would be indicated.
