Hey guys
Been awhile sence i have been on here and got prompted to come in again..

I have a few questions to ask the guys with knowledge..

I have a 2010 ram sport now..Got the 5.7 hemi(only 43000 kms or 27000 mi) with a 5 or 6 speed(i never remember) and 3:55..Not much has been done to it but she works good, heres my questions..

#1..Any advantages in a 2015 over a 2010
#2..Are the diablo trinity tuners able to move to a new 15 model
#3..Will my bigger throttle body(got it from a sponcer here,88mm i think)be a move over mod...

A local dealer to me called and asked if i was interested in tradeing up cause their dealership is looking for trade in..Telling me there are almost $9000 off the sticker price and 0% finance..I wasnt looking to upgrade but it has me courious to go and see..

The 8speed tranny will amaze you compared to the 6speed. A 3.21 gear 8 speed truck will run all over what you have now but I wish I had gotten the 3.92's. Drive both if you can. Pickings will be slim the next few months.

The TB should swap over but the tuners are $1000 for 2015+ models due to software changes I believe. Need a 2nd PCM.

Qwikkota..Tks bud but the tb will NOT flip over..Someone from moes replied and said there are differences..
To get my tuner to work i would need to send my pcm(trucks comp i assume)to diablo to unlock or get another pcm from same to tune..

O well my 1st reason to keep my 10..lol

How does a 321 ratio compare to the 355?? I want some pep but still like the mpg when i do hit the highways..All my family lives atleast 4 hrs away..

Like QuikKota said, the 3.21 is a good upgrade over what you have now. But I recommend going for the 3.92. Quicker off the line, and better for city driving mpg (which is why I bought it), and also improved tow rating. My truck has around 10,000 lb tow rating. The 3.21 would have around 8,500 or so.

The highway mileage of the 3.92 is pretty good, I just drove my new 2015 Big Horn crew cab with 5.7 and 3.92 gears on a 1,000 mile round trip, and I averaged about 18 mpg. It should get even better as the motor gets some more miles on it.

But whatever gearing you do end up with, the truck will be pretty quick.

I dont do any towing and i do some highway..Being a long hauler i dont drive that much when i come off the road..
I like the 355 i have now so the 321 will about equal that or the 392,despite the extra cpl gears??

I have a 2014 8spd with the 3.92 & it's rated one of the best set ups & I get way better mileage city & highway than I had in my old '06 Hemi with 3.73

Dealer told me to get the 392's,its an upgraded rear end ment for higher lb weight tow ability..Cost extra...I dont tow other than my ass around,a few grocerys and my bike..
For the amount i usually drive a lil mpg loss aint gonna kill me..

Due to the 8 speed 1st gear the 3.21 will be better off the line than the old 6 speed with 3.92's. If you don't need the higher tow capacity and do mostly highway there isn't a reason to get 3.92's. I had 3.21's in a quad cab rental and it got a lot better mileage than my 1500 with 3.55's and the 8 speed ever did.

The only difference is the ratio unless it has the anti-spin or posi. I feel 3.55's would be perfect for use with the 8 speed but going with the choice of either 3.21 or 3.92 the latter is better. Sorry for false info on the TB, I figured 2009 and up was the same on the engine. The diff changed mid 2010 so it's hard to find aftermarket gears, best to get what you want from the factory or off the lot.
