So was crusising into my drive way yesterday and heard a loud clunk, get out to check it out and my steering linkage is about ready to rip my stamp plate off my headers

So i ripped it the rest of the way off, now my steering linkage is full on hitting my headers tube to the point where i can barely turn left.....pretty pissed right now since i deploy in a week.

Anyone have any ideas? Havent had time to inspect whats fully going on but im thinking maybe my steering linkage is loose?

Pretty sure your header isn't moving around. Before driving the truck again I would find out what's happening to cause the interference. Pull the fender liner and get in there, something is seriously not right.

Most definetly, my buddy watched as i turned and he said my linkage was going in a pretty large diameter circle like its wobbling

Can you afford/manage to leave it like that while your deployed, and fix it when you return? Or does someone need the vehicle while your gone?

BTW, you don't have to say it, I understand opsec/infosec. But if your going to Kandahar, please keep your eyes open and your head down. It's ******* brutal over there.

Can't wait till we get the hell out of there.

I can manage with waiting. But its kinda like a piece of mind thing ya know lol
But if i cant get to it, itll just have to wait.

And nope not going to kandahar, but ive heard its pretty bad over there. I work the kc-135 strato tanker so nothing to bad base wise.
But defiently thanks for the heads up man.

Hows bagram? Thats our rumored next base for deployments.

Good to hear you found the problem. At least now you have piece of mind knowing before you head out.

That's a bit scary, have you worked on the rack pinion recently?
