Thoughts on tow mirrors?

i see this comment at lot and it makes no sense to me, especially on 3rd gens, its the exact same body, on 4th gens its a grill, hood and bumper, they are the same size truck, it has nothing really to do with the truck being a 2500 it has to do with the overall flow of the truck and if the mirrors fit the look

Yeah sorry I should've been more clear, the front end is what is larger and gives it the wide and bulky look. Regardless they are big trucks lol. And the front just makes the mirrors fit with the overall truck better.

It is definitely personal opinion but to me the color and size of the truck matter. My black 14 cc sport leveled with bils on 34.5" tires looks fine with tow mirrors on and I honestly couldn't imagine it without them. For your truck though, the color is so bold, the mirrors you have actually add to it's look. The tow mirrors might look ok painted to match but I say you're losing some of your look if you change. Will still be a beautiful truck either way though!

Yeah completely agree, color makes a big difference. Like you said mine stands out and don't want it to really look worse. That's why I am so on the fence about them... only one way to find out though

Like others said, it's a personal preference. I like both, and picked the truck with the tow package as it had better options. I've gotten really use to them and like seeing the whole side of the truck (and road) when parking/driving.

IMO, if you're going to be pulling a large trailer, you need them. I have some of the slide on mirrors I used a few times on my 1500. They were a cheap solution at the time. But, there were a few times I forgot them and struggled a bit. I'd rather just have them there all of the time.

i pop in every now and then. I lost my mojo after I sold the old truck. I have a new one, but I mostly live vicariously through the mods on Mike's truck. lol

All I tow is a boat & tandem axle utility trailer so I never need them. But if a guy had a large TT or toy hauler, yeah it would be pretty scary without them!

I only tow my TT about 5 or 6 times a year. I wouldn't tow something big without them. I believe the laws state that you have be able to see 200 ft behind your trailer to be legal, and with the sport mirrors you can't do that, though I see lots of people doing it.

It really is personal preference though. I put them on mine because I like to be able to see behind me when towing, and while they are a bit wider than the stock ones, I really like them.

Yes they do. I think they would look good with orange as well. Orange and black go well together.

I had a thread exactly like this a few week ago. I put the tow mirrors on my '17 sport with a leveling kit. They look fine. I much rather have the functionality of the tow mirrors to be able to see over the smaller sport mirrors any day.

In love the functionality of the tow mirrors but not the biggest fan of the looks on stock 1500s.

My TT is 8 feet wide plus the awning. Drove it home with my sport mirrors and couldn't see a damn thing. Tow mirrors are soon to be on the way I feel 1aauto gets the power fold back in stock.

Thank man! Pictures don't do it justice! In the sun when she's all cleaned up, it has that glitter flake in the paint so it really shines and sparkles!! And I mean that in the most manly of ways haha
