1995 1500 3.9 V6 2WD stick Shop manual does not address procedure for removal of the cable that is locked into the TB bracket right next to the gas pedal cable. The one in question goes to some gizmo behind the left headlight (emission control??) Before I start breaking stuff, would someone kindly advise me how to disconnect this plastic device. Thanks, Jim

The plastic box your referring to is your cruise control system its bolted to the bottom of your battery box on the front side and there is a cable that goes to the throttle body and a vacuum line that runs across the front top side of the motor toa Y on the passenger side right in the middle on the intake on passenger side. The cable itself has 2 ears that hold it in the bracket on the throttle body that a small flat blade screw driver and push down on both ears and push it back out of the bracket and the clip on the throttle body itself just push it to the front of the truck and it will pop of dont push to the side or you will brake the ears off that hold the clip on push straight to the front of the motor

Bradluster, Thank You... for the prompt, concise and very helpful reply to my query. Inasmuch as this procedure is not in the manual, let me add for anyone searching this subject that a pair of long-reach needle nose pliers was perfect for simultaneously compressing both ears on the aft side of the bracket hole and then applying pressure forward to free the cable assembly.
