Business has kept me off the forums lately (a few years....hit or miss) - just BUSY - so I'm not a "daily name" here on the page anymore (argh!) - but with our new '19 in the driveway.......can't just let it sit with stock heads?!?!?

I run RetroShop - www.retroshop.us - and hopefully by the end of the week we'll have the first set of customized 19 Ram headlights completed ;)

So, starting with a set of the mid level LED units (as that is what my truck came with) - and on this set........just simply painting and adding clear corners. Next round we'll have more "fun", but of course.....no LED boards out for this one yet!

Here's some pics of the tear down:

Just got this pic this morning from DK Moulds (our supplier for clear corners)

Keep in mind....there are 3 versions of lights, so.......this is one of 3 clears that we'll have to have made for the 19 Rams lol

So I'm curious if there will be any real projector modifications that come out for these headlights. The output of this set and the LED projector version above it have reasonable output from what I've seen. Anything that anyone comes out with would just be too costly I think. Guess that means the only real mods will be paint, corners, and maybe LED boards and drivers?

Is there a way to brighten up the DRL? It's kind of ridiculous that the DRL's are on but very very faint and dim... They are only really bright once the headlights turn on and at night. I guess I got used to my 2016 335i with the super bright DRL's lol. And I coded the car so they output 100% brightness.

.... Thinking, I wonder if there's a way to code these cars like you can on the bmw's. That would be something I'd be interested in.

On the halogen sets, yes - we can do projectors. On the LED version.....no. The LEDs aren't bad, I drove it the other night.....and overall.......pretty nice! As for modifications, yes - at this point, paint, clears. LED boards will be later.

Soon! I would have had these done earlier.......but it took 3 months to get them ordered in.

Can't wait to see the finished product

;)

Haven't dug into this yet......coding, doubtful at this time as well.

I'll get some stuff on there as soon as I get my set done ;)

Can't wait to see how these come out. The factory led lights look good, but I do wish the housings were a bit darker.

Jeremy, those are gorgeous!! You know I'll be doing something with mine, but like Segio said...I want my DRL tubes BRIGHTER like the Chargers. Whatever RAM was thinking with these need to be shot. I bet they'd look good with RGB controller. But the brightness needs a huge bump!

Well.......I dropped off circuit boards with Diode Dynamics on Friday to get the fun going there! ;)

Damn those look good, and the color I need. Have you installed them yet?

Yup! Pics coming right up!

If you don't mind what exactly does that company do? They can somehow figure out how to brighten the DRL's?? I would love to have them as bright as the chargers... And an RGB would definitely be something I'd (maybe) be interested in lol

Thats exactly one of the things they do ;)

They make brighter LEDs, and they have the color changing accents.

At this point all I would want in a new set of lights are to have the amber removed and yes brighter DRL.
