I had my 86 318 rebuilt. While installing decided to go and install a bit of performance to it. Got a mild cam, high rise intake, 600 holly 4bbl, changed to mechanical advance distributor. There is where my problems begin. Can't seem to get it timed right. The marks on the balancer are useless. I've turned the gear several times in both directions. Runs good but can hear it's not happy with it. Got it set #1 tdc and button pointing very close to #1 plug. But still runs unhappy. After warmed up getting a really drag start up. I'm not a mechanic but can turn wrenches well.
