So when you change tires does this piece of equipment get thrown out? Ive always wondered why when you order new tires online they ask if you want to buy new sensors.

No, you can still use them. If you change your wheels though you may need a rebuild kit.

So changing my rims constitutes the need to buy new tpms?

I just recently changed my rims and reused sensors now I'm having issues randomly. So my advise is to get rebuild kits when changing.

If im just changing tires it wouldnt need it right? Sorry im just trying to get an understanding of how this works. My last vehicle was 12 yrs old and didnt have this type of tech on it.

Right. They are connected to the rim only. I have a set in my winter and summer rims. Both sets are OEM.

Wow. I haven't bought any sensors for my truck yet, but have for other Chrysler vehicles and that's a steal.

And the cheapos last about 1/3 as long as the OEM ones.

Haha well no issues with my Amazon ones yet. If they die in a few years then I'll just order some more cheap ones and replace them myself again.

Yeah , these may look OEM but they are not. They worked on my truck for two days, and now none of them will read and I'm stuck with the yellow light until I need new tires. These sensors suck worse than Bernie Sander's politics views.

Mine are still going strong. Even swapped them into some aftermarket wheels.

Mine wouldn't read until I had the dealer "turn them on" or whatever. Been fine for several months now. Hopefully they continue to be. For the price, it's hard to complain.

Damn looks like they're gone! Was going to buy a set for winter wheels!
