I have a 2018 1500 4x4. I just replaced the stock 275/60/20 4ply tires with Falken Wildpeak AT3W LT275/65/20 10 ply tires. I wanted the 10ply because I haul a pontoon boat and rv occasionally. The tire indicates max pressure of 80psi. What does everyone run their tires at? Should I run them lower and increase pressure when towing, increase pressure and leave it there all the time or go with a lower pressure?

You run em at 80 with no load, and they will ride like rocks .... I run same size in Cooper ... 42F/40R ... Wearing perfect, ride is great

Chalk testing will give you the best pressure for your specific setup.

If you chalk test unloaded, just remember to increase the tire psi when loaded/towing.

My recommendation is to run a much lower pressure during empty driving, and then increase pressure when towing or hauling heavy loads. I generally run a higher pressure in the front than the rear while empty (trucks are heavier in the front when empty, plus have more lateral force when turning on the front). I will then only raise the rear pressure up when needed as towing and loads in the bed mainly put weight on the back. Now exactly what the pressures are depends on the truck and driving style. The chalk test is a good starting point. On an 80 psi max tire on a 1500 a starting point would be 55-60 psi front and 45-50 psi rear.....you can likely go lower but better to start at higher pressure. It's not unusual for new factory 3/4 tons to come with 80 psi max tires but only recommend 65 psi front at max weight. Also when I say raise the psi in the rear tires when towing, I do mean when towing heavy. You don't need to increase psi when towing your 2,500 lb. lawnmower trailer around.

I have KO 2’s in that size . I run them at 40 psi but I don’t haul anything . Had them for 45,000 miles with little wear.

I run mine at 40 psi start up. They usually build up to 43-45 while driving.

if I haul anything heavier than my 20ft trailer I’ll increase the pressure to around 45 and let them build up to about 50 after some travel

After a week on my Cooper AT3 XLT LT275/60R20, found my sweet spot so far to be right around 53psi cold front and rear. Still playing around with them to figure out what works best for me.

I'm running 285/60 20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers (10 ply E rated). They show 80 PSI as well, but I would never imagine running them that high for any reason. I run mine at 45 psi, and they're stiff as hell at that pressure. I cant imagine how terrible the ride would be at 80.
