Hi all... I have a 2017 Ram 1500 SLT and am currently running the factory recommended P275/60R20 tires. I have a chance to pick up some gently used replacement tires at a good price from a friend but his are P275/65R20s. What impact will changing over to a slightly taller tire have on the drivetrain?

Very slight loss of pulling power (and braking capability), but slightly better gas-mileage under light loads.

I just put 65k miles on a set of 275/65/20s on my 17 Ram with no ill effects. My gas mileage definetly went down, as the 275/65s were E rated and significantly heavier. I went with 285/65/20 this time and no issues thus far in 12k miles.

I have 275/65/20 Nitto Recon Grapplers on my 2017 Longhorn. I haven't noticed a huge change in anything in particular and feel like they ride very comfortably. They are SL load rated and I think that helps to provide a nice ride.

The drivetrain will handle it just fine.

Your speedo will be off a little bit though, but nothing a cheap programmer cant fix.

I have 275/65/20s now on my 19 classic 2wd and feel these are what should be on it.

Just do it. I use 285/75/17's on stock rims, from 265/70/17's. Tire weight has more of an impact then a small diameter increase. I went the skinny route to try and save weight and so I could just clear the upper control arm with the stock rims. I don't doubt its harder on everything, but that would also depend on how you drive it, or if you go offroad.
