Hey

I just traded in my Wrangler for a Ram.

I'd like to switch up my wheels. I did a few searches and i didn't find anything to answer my question.(if there is a link to this already covered plz lmk)

Just looking for tire/wheel size suggestions. I will lift the truck down the road(probably 2-3"), but i'd like to put some wheels on it first. Looking for a meaty look.

just looking for some suggestions since this is a new world to me. Thanks!

its a 2014 crew cab sport.

I actually had the Dura Trac Wranglers on my Jeep. I was very happy with them as well. They were 18s.

I don't drive far this will mainly be my DD. Not planning on running the wheels/tire in winter either. I am majority on city roads, go away a handful of times a year for cottage country.

I'm loving the pics above ^^^, very nice setup.

So mainly looking for what size wheel and tires I should run if i'm planning on a lift. So i don't have to buy another set of tires down the road.

It's all personal preference IMO. With the wheels I put on I could go to a 35x12.50 without a lift, but it would look packed in the wheel well. IMO a 35x12.50 with the lift your talking about is all the bigger I would go.

yeah you have a good point with the packed tire look, I know exactly what you mean. Just trying to do this once and not do it again is all.

what would the tire size be approx for a 35" setup?

Go to TireRack.com they have the specs of many tires.

hows the road noise on them? i was looking at them too then a friend got a set in his 05 Sierra but when he took me for a ride they were very loud. i don't think his cab is very sound proof so that doesn't help but i'd like to know the tires aren't gonna drive me nuts on long drives

also have you got them into any mud and snow? i've heard they perform decent but wondering how they'd compare to a dedicated snow tire

Since you won't be seeing off road driving very often, I would stick to an AT tire for sure.
Toyo AT2
GYR Dura trac
BFG AT

I think all 3 are great tires. I'm running Toyo MT's at this time, but will be switching out to AT's after hunting season is done and before the snow hits.

Treaddepot.com and you can research very easily - I am putting a set of Cooper Discover S/T max tires on - 275 65 20 - and leveling with Bilsteins up front

When I first got mine they were silent. Now they have a little noise but nothing crazy. Less noise than my buddies toyo mts. In my experience they are awesome in mud, haven't got stuck yet with them on and I have been through some good holes. I havnt had any winter experience with them yet so I don't know about snow

I find them very quiet, i mean you can hear them over the stockers but barely, i was expecting more noise out of them
Awesome in snow, i ran 2wd with confidence at least 90% of the winter and im in northern ontario so theres no shortage of snow, in the mud theyve always got me out of wherever i put my truck including one hole i probably shouldnt have put it
