So what's needed to change my 3:55 std rear to a posi? (or anti-slip, Ltd.slip, whatever it's called now)
I want to leave a proper signature!
Can I use the same left axle? Just swap out the center gears? Any reprogramming necessary?
Any insight is appreciated.

What parts you need depends on what LSD you use. You could put the OEM or an Auburn unit in which is a clutch type LSD. There is also a Detroit TruTrac which is a helical gear type that will require a different axle shaft as Eaton doesn't make on specifically for the ZF axles in these truck.
Inquire with Moe's Performance down in the vendor section as they sell everything you need but installing a new differential is usually best left up to pros. Getting the gears set up properly takes a bit of precision.

The OEM unit will be the best for your usage, ask All Mopar Parts warehouse for a quote. February it was on sale for $395.

Thanks guys, I think that's all I need, the unit and the 2 bearing kits?
I can keep both existing axles and my cover (although I might shop for a shiny one!) and nothing else is needed
(besides fluid obviously)
I thought it was just gears & bearings but wanted to verify about the axles.
