I sold my stock 20 wheels and tires on Craigslist (it took a very long time but I made $100 on all 5 wheels and another $100 on all 5 tires lol) And went straight for 17x9 wheels (Raceline Clutch) and 315/70/17 tires., literally after 2nd day of ownership. then it occurred to me I wanted bigger so I went for 37x12.5x17 and ran those for a nice while, until I settled back into 315/70/17. To me that’s the perfect size for my truck and driving needs. I’m not into the pizza cutter camp and 17” wheels are as big as I’ll go in this application.

35s seems to be a pretty good match for street and off-road I want to stay with the stock rims just for ease of replacement in case of damage

I like wider tires but not so they stick out 6 inches. An inch or two is fine for me. If i were to go wider id like to get different wheels so the offset goes a little out further from the wheel well. Ive looked into it actually and the wheels i like are around $1700 and then tires so its pricey.

The 2500 are far too heavy for big tires to give you any flotation, and in mud or snow, it doesn't really help anyhow. I like tall and relatively skinny, but you still need a big enough contact patch for good stopping on ice and dry pavement. The stock 275 70 18s on my 2500 are about right. I also want the tires inside the wheel well, get enough rocks and mud slung without having them hanging out 3 or 4 inches past the well.

That’s exactly why I am sticking with the stock rims if you damage an after market rims after 3/4years you might not be able to get a replacement

I find that the narrower ones don’t follow the grooves in the road as bad and I put my truck on a diet and it gained about a 1000 lbs so yeah it’s not going to float

I have mud flaps front and back and an extra set on the front of the rear wheels to cut down on stuff being tossed forward and it still slings rocks. I actually have the flares and rocker panels 3Med and it still marks up from the rocks. In the Spring I am actually going to have the wholes Flares front and back and the lower rocker panels, from just below the Ram Badge down, painted with clear coated black Linex. It will make a real nice accent and protect those areas from rocks.

I did mine with stuff I got from princess auto I like it because it’s cheap and I use it on my rock sliders too the sand they use on the roads blast it off or if I scraped it off wheeling I can just repaint it and it’s fine

When I wash my truck in the winter it costs about 15bucks and stays clean about 2 miles down the road it’s a fact of life in Alberta usually don’t wash it when it’s going to be or getting warm you kinda have to watch the weather wash it just before it gets cold so it might stay clean for a day or two everybody’s car looks like crap in the winter here

There’s 2 car washes in Airdrie that I use. The basic touchless wash costs $9 and $10 respectfully, and they do a good job at getting all the chemical sand garbage off. They do a better, faster, and cheaper job than I could ever do in the DIY bays. All 3 of the trucks in my sig fit in these bays.

Tires: I don’t need any size different than what came on the truck. Summer cruising highway tire. Winter top of the line studded Hakka.
